Population
Gender Distribution

The total population of Kenya in 2019 split between males (23,548,100) and females (24,014,700), highlighting the gender composition of the population.

Population Density

The population density of Kenya in 2019 was of 82 people per square kilometer reveals how densely or sparsely populated different regions of the country are.

Total Households

As of 2019, there was a total of 12,143,900 households, and the average household size was 3.9 people.

Economy
Trade

The volume of trade declined from KSh 333.8 billion in February 2024 to KSh 306.2 billion in March 2024.

Export

The total export value decreased from KSh 107.4 billion in February to KSh 97.9 billion in March 2024.

Imports

The total import value decreased from KSh 226.4 billion in February 2024 to KSh 208.2 in March.

Public Finance

National government revenue, including grants, is predicted to increase by 14.9% to KSh 2,562.1 billion in 2022/23, with tax accounting for 87.9% of the total.

Money Banking

Overall credit advanced by commercial banks and non-bank financial organizations increased by 12.3% to KSh 6,218 billion as of the end of December 2022.

International Scene

Global real GDP growth slowed to 3.4 percent in 2022, down from 6.0 percent in 2021. The reduced growth was caused by post-COVID-19 tightening of monetary policy in most countries among other factors increased oil and food costs.

Agriculture
Tea Production

Tea production decreased from 58,966.9 MT in January 2024, to 55,447.3 MT in February 2024.

Horticultural Exports

The volume of exported cut flowers decreased from 12,841.9 MT in November 2023 to 4,684.6 MT in December 2023, accompanied by a corresponding decrease in value from KSh 9.5 billion to KSh 3.2 billion.

Coffee Exports

The quantity of exported coffee increased from 2,745.2 MT in February 2024 to 4,291.3 MT in March 2024, with a corresponding increase in value from KSh 2.1 billion to KSh 3.3 billion, during the same period.

Tourism
International Visitors Arrival

The number of international visitor arrivals grew by 35.4 per cent from 1,541.0 thousand in 2022 to 2,086.8 thousand in 2023.

National Parks and Game Reserves

The number of visitors to national parks and game reserves went up by 43.0 per cent to 3,637.3 thousand in 2023.

Hotel Bed-Occupancy

The number of bed-night occupancy increased by 23.2 per cent from 7,009.0 thousand in 2022 to 8,632.8 thousand in 2023.
