Dear Readers
Welcome to the official website of the Kenya High Commission in Botswana. We hope that you will find the website and the linkages useful to get information and news on Kenya in particular on Government, Trade, Consular services, Investment Opportunities in Kenya as well as Kenya/Botswana bilateral relations.
Kenya is strategically located as the gateway to the Great Lakes Region, the Horn of Africa and East Africa and is a member of the East African Community and COMESA and offers a great trade and investment climate with great opportunities for trade and business partnerships.
Nairobi the capital city is the regional hub for economic and multilateral diplomacy. It hosts one of the four United Nations offices and numerous intergovernmental organizations.
Kenya and Botswana relations are cordial and founded on strong historical ties. The framework establishing the Kenya/Botswana Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation that was signed in 2001 through which various agreements in Mining, Air services, Agriculture, Arts and Culture, Education, Science and Technology have been signed has served to enhance relations between the two countries. Various exchanges among the people of the two countries focuses on education, medicine, engineering among the key sectors of engagement.
Our main priority as a High Commission is to enhance relations with Botswana. It is my goal to work to promote these relations for the benefit of the citizens of our two friendly nations.
The High Commission is also accredited to the Southern African Development Cooperation (SADC) whose headquarters is in Gaborone and through which we are committed to enhance regional integration and SADC/EAC/COMESA partnership.
We are also committed to engaging the Kenyans in the diaspora in line with our National Development agenda.
We welcome your comments and ideas with a view to improving the website.
Kealeboga!
Asante Sana
